Travels with True Blood

We got to Denver about noon and stopped and had lunch. We were all still excited though we were ready to be there already. We would arrive early tomorrow morning by our calculations and if we didn't have any long stops. The weather had been with us and we were enjoying the scenery.

At the restaurant, GS was fiddling with his IPad. God Speed loved the technical gadgets of the computer world and I was happy to let him. For me, there was nothing like a road atlas. My faves were tucked in the console between me and Renee, and when we stopped, I liked to take it out and refer to it. It was dog eared and mangled and there were ink lines and coffee and soda rings on it but it was like an old friend on many a romp.

Along side my Rand McNally was my map book of Louisiana, with each parish given a double page spread. I didn't need it anymore, the route between me and LA so often taken and well loved, that it was as easy as going home. But I marked Shreveport and on the inset, I marked Fangtasia's locale and on the margins were a couple of dates and times, sort of like a little journal. A record of our adventures. So, while we were stopped to eat and stretch, I sat down with my pen and marked the place date time where were sitting now.

I could not wait to be at Minnie's and to see my Bill. I had so much to talk to him about, so many things to say to him, so many questions I had to ask him about what we could expect from one another as my dynamic changed to include my Barrister. I also looked forward to what Aolani had planned to celebrate spring. They would be heading out now to begin their shorter voyage.

Not far now to our destination.
